Nigerian Customs Intercepts Illicit Substances At Lagos Port

The Apapa Command of the Nigeria Customs Service is presently investigating how a cache of banned substances made its way to the port. The illicit substances which include tramadol and codeine were recovered during a covert operation carried out by carefully selected officers attached to the Port.
A competent source at the Port hinted that the well-coordinated operation was carried out at about 1230 hrs on Monday following in-depth intelligence reports.
The officers were consequently said to have intercepted a 40ft container with registration number TEMU 6164202 at the Sifax 2 bonded Terminal, Lagos Port.
