Beautician grabs brand new car in Glo promo

A newly graduated beautician, Temitope Bakare, has won a brand new car

in the ongoing Glo Festival of Joy promo in Ijebu Ode. She was among

winners who received their prizes in the city on Tuesday, December 12, 2022. Bakare, who could hardly contain her emotions, rolled on the floor and shed tears of joy when she beheld her brand new car at the presentation ceremony.

Prior to the presentation, she had displayed some drama for Globacom officials who called her number to relay the good news to her from the venue of the draws. Each time they called her, she kept terminating the calls. When she got irritated with the several calls, she switched off her phone to keep them away.

After the draws, Glo officials traced her customer records and decided to pay her a visit at her Itaalaga Street house, not far from the Gloworld outlet in Ijebu Ode.

It was that visit that was used to convince her that she had hit a jackpot in the Glo customer appreciation promo. She said, “When the calls kept coming and coming, I thought they were from fraudsters. Though I dialed *611# short code and kept recharging, I never thought I could win among millions of subscribers. This was why I decided to

switch off my phone to block further calls”. The entire community erupted in jubilation at the presentation ceremony. She was the toast of everyone who knew her. Winner of a power generating set, Awolesi Olamide, 19-year-old student of Business Administration at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta and an indigene of Sagamu, was overjoyed at winning her prize. On what she is going to do with her prize, she said: “I will take my generator to school”.

In her own case, 28-year-old Motunrayo Alausa, a fashion designer, who won a sewing machine, she was thankful to Glo for helping her with another sewing machine which she would add to the ones she already had.

The Regional Manager in charge of Glo Operations in Ogun State, Mr. Ikenna Aguwuom, congratulated Bakare and all the winners of other prizes including generators, sewing machines and rechargeable fans, noting that more and more winners will emerge in the days ahead. He enjoined other Glo users to get on the winning train saying, “by dialling the dedicated short code *611# and recharge with N500 weekly to stand a chance to win the rechargeable fan, N2,500 monthly recharge for the Sewing Machine, N5,000 monthly recharge for the generator, and N10,000 monthly recharge for the car and N20,000 for houses”.

The State Commissioner for Finance, Honourable Waheed Odusile, who graced the occasion, disclosed that he was pleasantly surprised to see the quality and quantity of prizes being presented to subscribers and commended Globacom for taking special interest in the welfare of its customers and their empowerment through the Festival of Joy promo.
