EFCC To Detain Ex-AGF, Mohammed Adoke, For 14 Days News

In an ex-parte application filed and moved by the EFCC’s lawyer, Fatima Mustapha, on Friday, Justice Othman Musa of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has granted permission to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to detain the immediate-past Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohammed Adoke SAN, for 14 days.

The EFCC’s lawyer said the plan to hold the ex-AGF was to enable the commission to complete its investigations of allegations involving the suspect.
Adoke who has since 2016 been charged with $1.1bn Malabu Oil scam returned into the country to end his over four years old self-exile on Thursday.
Mr. Mohammed Adoke SAN, was arrested in Abuja on Thursday. He was picked up at the foot of the aircraft by Interpol, refusing anyone access to him
In a short message, his lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, stated that the ex-minister was arrested moments after the aircraft which he boarded from Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, touched down at the Abuja airport.
Adoke, who had been on self-exile since 2015, was arrested in November by Interpol in Dubai over some pending charges in connection with the Malabu Oil deal in Nigeria.
