Obasa, Toyin Kolade, AIG Mohammed Ali, Olori Temitope Ogunwusi, ARK, Oba Mosobalaje, Others Honoured At Buzznews Awards/Lecture 2023

Several dignitaries were honoured at the Second Annual Buzznews (BEST) Awards/Lecture, 2023, held at the Presken Hotels, Ikeja, Lagos, on Saturday, December 16. It was themed; “Gender And Tech: Exploring The Digital Gap & Encouraging Women Participation In Tech.”

The event featured lectures by Engr. Dr Atinuke Wuraola Owolabi, MNSE, FNIEEE, Chairman of the Association of Professional Women Engineers Of Nigeria, Lagos Chapter and Dr Akin Olaniyan, Convener, Centre For Social Media Research.



Both were later inducted into Buzznews Magazine’s Hall of Fame.

In her welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of Buzznews, publishers of Buzznews Magazine and www.buzznews.com.ng, Mrs Funmi Olowosegun, stated that the edition signalled a new dawn in “the celebration of outstanding personalities cutting across all business aspects of life spanning banking, aviation, real estate, oil and gas, maritime, transportation, manufacturing, etc.”





Olowosegun added that equally being appreciated is the support extended to the organisation by respectable community leaders as well as gallant security chieftains and personnels, political stalwarts and democratically-inclined leaders, topnotch members of the diplomatic corps amongst others.








The Buzznews CEO stated that she was glad that despite the current political and economic storms, excercabated more by the “no cash era” late last year, “we were able to weather the storms and by HIS mercy, we find ourselves here today to honour this invitation taking cognisance of your busy schedule.



“With joy in my heart, your attendance of Buzznews BEST Awards today has reinforced my conviction that it is good to recognise and express appreciation to all our selected awardees.”








She stressed that Buzznews Recognition Awards is about celebrating achievers and iconic figures in the African Entrepreneurship, Security, human and community development efforts, not forgetting the vital area of technology value chain.






“We are gathered here to discuss and illustrate these topical issues bothering on business, security and technological evolvement and development in our country.




“We are all aware that these three facets of life are very vital to our daily existence. We cannot do without them. Every responsible, matured Nigerian is a potential entrepreneur, who must be in tune with the rudiments and etiquette of business. He or she must also put into consideration, the practical dos and don’ts of his or her business,” she said.








Honorees included the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, Iyalaje Oodua, Ambassador (Dr) Princess Toyin Kolade, AIG, Zone 2, Mohamed Ari Ali, wife of the Ooni of Ife- Her Regal Majesty, Ambassador (Dr) Temitope Enitan Ogunwusi, and Bamigboye 11 Ilufemiloye-Ariwajoye 1, HRM, Oba Abdul-Rafiu Oyekanmi Mosobalaje.

Others were the lawmaker representing Ikeja Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Adedamola Richard Kasunmu (ARK), General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, CEO, Waju-G Cargo and Logistics Services, Mr Odedeyi Olanrewaju, Group Managing Director of CapitalField Investment Group Limited, Mr Raphael Lewu, CEO of Unique Motors, Prince Adesina, Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Mr Gboyega Akosile and Rev. Chris Okafor

Also honoured were the Group Managing Director of Dees Holdings Ltd, Mr Daisi Olotu, the Aladeokin of Oriade Town via Ile Ife, Osun State, HRM, Oba Anthony Olalekan Fasesin, MD of KB Fabrics, Lady Kehinde Boluwatife, MD of TruthTech Multi Construction Ltd, Engr Ayo Ilesanmi James, Zenith Bank, Alhaji Olawale Salisu, Dr (Princess) Lilian Odumosu and Olori Ronke Olagunju.

Others honoured at the event were UBA, Assistant Head of News24, Rebecca Oluseun Oyedeji, Checkers Custard, Broadcaster/Journalist, Abayomi Oke-Asiwaju, Broadcaster/Journalist, Nifemi Oguntoye, Ambassador Cornel Udofia, Ecobank, Miliki 101.3FM, Mr Sanusi Oluwatosin and Tee Abiola Alabi Oduola-Adeleke (SEAN POLITEE).
