Born Samson Hodge Iriakannu. He defeated two other contestants among who are the outgoing president, Faraday Ebose and another lady contestant, Vivian Osuya Eni from Delta state.
Mr. Samson Hodge hails from Ihiala local government in Anambra state.
Until his election, Samson Hodge was the vice president of NUNAI.
In his speech after the election, he reiterated that a new Nigeria is possible with determination and the right leadership.
“We, as Nigerians in the diaspora, we can work together to set Nigeria on the path of greatness again.
“Here in Italy, I am not unaware of the challenges ahead and, by the grace of God with the set of the newly elected executives, we are ready to work assiduously to redeem the image of the country and collaborate with the Nigerian Embassy and Italian investors to facilitate investment in our country.
“I also know that we have to address the scandalous exodus of our country youths through Lybia to Europe and the number of needles lives being wasted through these journeys. These and others we are ready and willing to engage all the stakeholders to address.”
He appealed to other contestarts who went to the polls with him but lost to be sportmanly in defeat and enjoined all provincial and regional presidents of Nigerian communities to be ready to work together with the new team.
