Veteran Yoruba actress, Funmilayo Ogunsola, popularly known as Ijewuru, is dead.
She died at her Ibadan home after an unsuccessful battle with complications from cardiac arrest.
A family member, Adebisi Ogunsola, broke the sad news on Tuesday night.
The deceased who was known for her comic dexterity was the fourth wife of the late veteran Yoruba actor, Ishola Ogunsola, better known as I Show Pepper.
Her husband was one of the founding members of Association of National Theater Arts Practitioners (ANTP).
Ogunsola’s contemporaries include Charles Olumo (Agbako), Afolabi Afolayan (Jagua), Jimoh Alihu (Aworo) and Femi Adeyemo aka Babangbalife, who died in 1993 after a brief illness.
Recall that the senior wife, Mojisola Ogunsola, died at the age of 60 in 2009.
The second wife, Iyabode Ogunsola, is presently working in the Lord’s vineyard as a pastor in the Egbeda area of Lagos.
Two other wives of the late prominent actor are Bolatito Ogunsola and Yetunde Ogunsola.
